Power Generation

Our experience in this field has included studies involving conventional as well as nuclear power plants along with work on the transmission and distribution network.

Project work includes:

• assessment of defects that pass across the weld / base material fusion line
• fatigue and creep crack growth analysis for defects in high temperature nuclear power plant
• analysis of a variety of intact and cracked power plant components under pressure load and thermal transients (e.g. startup, shutdown scenarios)
• elastic and limit load analysis of cracked pipe intersections

Consultancy work in this area involving crack simulation is supported by our proprietary Zencrack software.
