PhasePot is a Multiphysics simulation program coupled with CALPHAD for materials process modelling. PhasePot integrates the phase-field and Monte-Carlo Potts methods for efficient simulation of polycrystalline microstructures in 2D.
Simulation of microstructure evolution enhances the capability to control manufacturing process and to design alloys for superior material performance. For real engineering materials and processes, this requires combining several models and using advanced algorithms for efficient simulation of polycrystalline microstructures - which may form under non-equilibrium conditions e.g., during additive manufacturing, heat treatment, welding, laser processing, casting, diffusion bonding, and many more.
