Version 7.9-3 update

Version 7.9-3 was finalised on 11 May 2015.

The following bugs are fixed in this release:

ZENCR465 - GUI may hang if non-ASCii characters are used.
ZENCR464 - GUI may not register an uncracked mesh in the input data as "new data".

ZENCR462 - GUI may not display all crack faces and profile lines clearly.
ZENCR461 - GUI may fail to pick a single element if there are nearby smaller elements.
ZENCR460 - GUI may pick incorrect nodes if some elements are not displayed.
ZENCR459 - GUI plotting of invalid xy data (e.g. log of zero) fails with no message.
ZENCR458 - Process utility may output incorrect raw j-integral data for the Ansys interface.
ZENCR457 - Process utility does not extract raw j-integral data for the NX Nastran interface.
ZENCR456 - GUI may not extract xy data if an analysis is still running.
ZENCR455 - Invalid input to UTILITY_CRACK_FRONT_NODE may not return a value of -1.
ZENCR454 - Attempts to use user subroutine USER_DADT_CT cause a Fortran error.
ZENCR453 - Ct-integrals are not processed from the Abaqus .odb file.

Version 7.9-3

Version 7.9-3 was finalised on 24 March 2015.

The following bugs are fixed in this release:

ZENCR452 - An analysis may fail with error 4165.
ZENCR451 - Issues using the remote transfer capability.
ZENCR450 - In some cases the "process" utility program may not extract all expected data.
ZENCR449 - In some cases the output from the "rainflow" utility program may not report any cycles.
ZENCR448 - Contour integral results are not extracted correctly from the Abaqus .odb if 10 or more contours are calculated on a crack front.
ZENCR447 - T-stress results are not extracted from the Abaqus .odb for Abaqus 6.14.
ZENCR446 - Possible write acces error to existing .bk1 or .bk2 files.
ZENCR445 - Incorrect value reported in the message for Error 4130.
ZENCR444 - Zencrack user subroutine analysis fails if the filename or folder contain space (Windows only).
ZENCR443 - Very long folder paths may cause a Fortran out-of-bounds error for "runzcr79".
ZENCR442 - Spaces are removed in element set names on *ELEMENT, NAME=.
ZENCR441 - Ansys meshes do not import to the Zencrack GUI if using Ansys 10.0.

Version 7.9-2

Version 7.9-2 was finalised on 24 September 2014.

The following bugs are fixed in this release:

ZENCR439 - Incorrect documentation for *ELEMENT SETS, EXPORT
ZENCR438 - Problem if too many data lines are used on *ENERGY RELEASE RATE
ZENCR437 - Mesh is displayed too small in the GUI viewport after import if tet elements are excluded
ZENCR436 - Plots saved in the GUI with the File/Capture options may include part of the File drop-down menu
ZENCR435 - Incorrect scaling of dG/da during integration for full cycle analyses with minor cycles requested
ZENCR434 - Performance issue for Abaqus jobs and extraction of results from the Abaqus .odb file (Abaqus interface)
ZENCR433 - Errors in the summary report of load levels in a spectrum file
ZENCR432 - Crack-block l05_q1176x14 does not appear in the list of crack-blocks in the GUI (or the Abaqus/CAE plug-in)
ZENCR431 - Detailed integration output files (.bk1 and .bk2) may not be created for the requested nodes
ZENCR430 - Rainflow utility program does not run on 32bit Windows machines
ZENCR429 - Analysis may give unexpected error 4029 or 4034
ZENCR428 - GUI hangs if node sets are highlighted at the time that 'Clear Zcr mesh' is selected
ZENCR427 - Analysis fails with a Fortran error if *ELEMENT SETS, NAME= is used without the EXPORT option

Version 7.9-1

Version 7.9-1 was finalised on 6 December 2013.

The following bugs are fixed in this release:

ZENCR426 - Error creating cracked mesh when user defined crack front and certain input options are used
ZENCR425 - Possible error in threshold calculation if tabular fatigue crack growth and the *THRESHOLD keyword are used
ZENCR424 - Incorrect error message given when some load system parameters are used with a full cycle load system
ZENCR423 - Possible error 4053 when using a spline to define an embedded initial crack front
ZENCR422 - Analysis appears to hang at screen message "Starting crack growth integration" when using subroutine user_contour (Abaqus interface)

Note:

  • For Windows 8, the program and documentation installers will create entries in the "All Apps" page that would normally appear in the Start Menu on Windows 7. The "Zencrack command prompt" and "Zencrack GUI" can be pinned to the Taskbar. All items can be pinned to the "Start" page. If you choose the option during installation, shortcuts for the command prompt and GUI are placed on the desktop in the normal way.
  • If your PDF reader application does not support the use of cross-document links you may prefer to install and use an alternative such as Adobe Acrobat Reader or the lightweight open source Sumatra.
