GUI version 1.2-d

GUI version 1.2-d was finalised on 4 June 2013.

This is the second beta release of the Zencrack GUI as part of the version 7.8 release cycle.

Version 7.8-4

Version 7.8-4 was finalised on 1 June 2013.

There are no additional bug fixes in this release.

GUI version 1.2-c

GUI version 1.2-c was finalised on 12 March 2013.

This is the first beta release of the Zencrack GUI as part of the version 7.8 release cycle.

Version 7.8-3

Version 7.8-3 was finalised on 12 March 2013.

The following bugs are fixed in this release:

ZENCR416 - Degenerated brick elements used in a split set may not be identified when using automatic split set expansion
ZENCR415 - Using crack-block family s05 with Ansys (documentation issue)
ZENCR414 - Degenerated brick elements used in a split set definition may not be split
ZENCR413 - An overload condition is not initialised correctly if it occurs at the start of a spectrum
ZENCR412 - Plug-ins for Abaqus/CAE may report an unknown error 64 when /CAE starts (Abaqus interface, Windows, nodelocked license)
ZENCR411 - Unable to read results from an Abaqus .odb file (Abaqus interface, Windows)

Version 7.8-2

Version 7.8-2 was finalised on 1 October 2012.

The following bugs are fixed in this release:

ZENCR410 - Some crack growth analyses do not carry out Kic checks
ZENCR409 - Description of parameters END CYCLE, END PASS, END TIME on the *OUTPUT keyword is incorrect in the Input Formats Manual
ZENCR408 - Some variables are not processed correctly on the *CONTROLS keyword
ZENCR407 - Unexpected message that the analysis stopped because there was a load spectrum pass with no growth
ZENCR406 - The Rainflow utility may return numerically zero or huge values if only a single cycle is identified
ZENCR405 - The Ansys Interface Manual incorrectly implies that target and contact element types 170, 173 and 174 are updated on target crack-blocks for files generated by Workbench (Ansys interface)
ZENCR404 - Problem defining split sets with the "sides" method if some elements contribute an edge rather than a full face
ZENCR403 - Expected field and/or history data may be missing from the Abaqus .odb file (Abaqus interface)
ZENCR401 - Warnings about duplicate elements in the uncracked mesh (Ansys interface)

Version 7.8-1

Version 7.8-1 was finalised on 28 June 2012.

The following bugs are fixed in this release:

ZENCR400 - Problem writing certain Ansys SFE data generated by CDWRITE (Ansys converter)
ZENCR399 - Problem reading certain Ansys SFE data generated by CDWRITE (Ansys interface)
ZENCR398 - Plug-ins for Abaqus/CAE and /Viewer are not compatible with Abaqus 6.12 (Abaqus interface)
ZENCR397 - ESURF options may not appear in the cracked mesh (Ansys interface)
ZENCR396 - Problems if the install folder path contains a space (Ansys interface on Windows only)
ZENCR395 - Problems if the install folder path contains a space (Windows only)
ZENCR391 - Problem in PROCESS utility reading raw contour integral values from a .rep file prior to v7.5-13

Windows

32bit Windows:

Zencrack 7.8-3 and 7.8-4 are available for x86-32 and x86-64 machines running 32bit Windows e.g. XP / 7 / 8.

Zencrack 7.8-1 and 7.8-2 are available for x86-32 and x86-64 machines running 32bit Windows e.g. XP / 7 (not Windows 8).

This release requires Intel Fortran Version 10.1 or later to use Zencrack user subroutines. (Versions 10.1 or 11.1 are recommended).

The Zencrack GUI beta version is supported on 32bit Windows.

64bit Windows:

Zencrack 7.8-3 and 7.8-4 are available for x86-64 machines running 64bit Windows e.g. Windows 64bit XP / 7 / 8.

Zencrack 7.8-1 and 7.8-2 are available for x86-64 machines running 64bit Windows e.g. Windows 64bit XP / 7 (not Windows 8).

This release requires Intel Fortran Version 10.1 or later to use Zencrack user subroutines. (Versions 10.1 or 11.1 are recommended).

The Zencrack GUI beta version is supported on 64bit Windows.

Note:

  • For Windows 8, the program and documentation installers will create entries in the "All Apps" page that would normally appear in the Start Menu on Windows 7. The "Zencrack command prompt" and "Zencrack GUI" can be pinned to the Taskbar. All items can be pinned to the "Start" page. If you choose the option during installation, shortcuts for the command prompt and GUI are placed on the desktop in the normal way.
  • If your PDF reader application does not support the use of cross-document links you may prefer to install and use an alternative such as Adobe Acrobat Reader or the lightweight open source Sumatra.

Linux

Zencrack 7.9-x is available for x86-64 machines running 64bit Linux.

This release requires Intel Fortran Version 10.1 or later to use Zencrack user subroutines. (Versions 10.1 or 11.1 are recommended).

Extensive testing has taken place using SuSe Linux Enterprise Desktop 10.

The Zencrack GUI beta version is not supported on Linux platforms.

License server

The license server installation is available for 32bit and 64bit Windows or 64bit Linux machines.

For license server installations the client machines do not have to match the license server machine type.
